bought my sister one of these for christmas and it really is a very good system for working out all your financial commitments, setting your finance goals and planning everything in stages to get out of debt or to avoid getting into debt...I would recommend it to anyone...and its a reasonable price.....lol...DD
That is a serious amount of debt and with the current recession going on things are going to get worse... much worse.
The ones who are getting rich, as always, are the merchants, who sell more than ever before.
Consumer society means a society in debt. We purchase and throw away things faster than ever before. I shudder just thinking how much money I have spent on mobile phones and telephone bills since they came out - something which is virtually totally useless and people havn't needed before it was invented.
To make my money last I have decided to stop using my mobile phone and stop going out for dinner and drinking. It's surpising how much a night out costs these days.

If U.K. personal debt is over £1 000 000 000 000, couldn't we just add it all together and move it between credit cards offering 6 months at 0%. I can imagine the look on a telephone operator at Barcl*ycard,'How much would you like to transfer? One trillion pounds. Can I put you on hold while I talk to my supervisor...'
